A site that looks good and a site that earns differ by process, not by taste in design. This is the same seven-step process we use for client projects in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
1. Define one primary action
Before colours and logos, decide what the visitor should do: submit a form, call, book a slot or buy. One primary action means the whole page leads there instead of offering ten equally weighted options.
2. Build structure around searches, not your org chart
Customers do not search for “Our solutions” — they search for “website development price” or “booking system for a ski resort”. Every meaningful search deserves its own page with its own heading and content.
- One page = one search intent
- Separate service pages instead of one long page
- A blog for the questions customers ask before buying
3. Write the content before the design
Design built around real copy looks better and performs better. The first screen needs a clear offer: what you do, for whom, and the next step.
Replace generic claims with numbers and proof: project count, response time, client names, ratings.
4. Technical fundamentals that are expensive to retrofit
Set these during development; fixing them later is a separate project.
- Server-rendered or static pages so Google sees the content
- Unique title and meta description per page
- One H1 per page and a logical heading hierarchy
- Image optimisation, lazy loading, Core Web Vitals in the green
- hreflang for multilingual sites and self-referencing canonicals
- robots.txt and sitemap.xml submitted to Google Search Console
5. Make contact effortless
A form with two required fields converts better than one with eight. Offer alternatives next to it — email, phone and WhatsApp — because some buyers will never fill a form.
6. Measurement from day one
Without measurement you cannot tell whether the site works. Minimum: GA4, Search Console and a form-submission event. Ideally every enquiry also lands in your inbox and CRM.
7. The first six weeks after launch
Launch is the start. In the first weeks read Search Console queries and improve pages already ranking in positions 8–20 — that is the fastest route to page one.
Häufige Fragen
Can I build the website myself?
Site builders are fine for a brochure site. As soon as you need multilingual content, integrations or serious SEO, a self-built site usually becomes the limit.
How many pages does a new company need?
Start with a home page, one page per core service, about, portfolio and contact — that is already 6–10 indexable pages.
When does a new site appear in Google?
Indexing takes days to two weeks after sitemap submission. Rankings for competitive queries usually build over 3–6 months of consistent publishing.
